Chiropractic
Chiropractic adjusting is a safe and effective therapy for improving spinal, pelvic and joint movement, mobility and addressing localized or radiating pain. Although most people identify with an adjustment as being applied to the spine, it can also feel great on the extremities such as the wrists and ankles! Chiropractic Medicine has been around for over a hundred years, if not thousands, if you account for how long Eastern Medicine utilized joint mobilization as a health practice. It is a movement based therapy where the Doctor identifies segments of the spine (or extremities) that lack proper motion and provides mobility through an adjustment. A Chiropractic adjustment is often referred to in Medical Science as High Velocity (fast moving) Low Amplitude (low force) as the Doctor gently takes the necessary joints slightly past their active range of motion, which creates the "popping" sound, or cavitation. This sound is simply gas bubble dispersing from the joint fluid, or gas pressure releasing.

Most people seek out Chiropractic as a relief for back, neck or hip pain , whiplash or injury. But like other movement therapies, it has also been know to have a positive effect on overall health, mobility, flexibility, strength, and more.

Chiropractic can work differently for everyone, both profoundly and subtly, most noticeably effective in combination with pain management and soft tissue therapies, however many Chiropractors notice a cumulative effect with health and injury prevention over time. Different techniques are applied to different injuries and body types. In our office we incorporate Diversified technique (a diverse compilation of adjusting techniques, basically), Activator and/or instrument assisted techniques, Drop Table and Sacro-Occipital Technique.

Soft Tissue Therapy
Integrating manual and instrument assisted soft tissue treatment techniques for relieving pain, improving circulation, breaking up fibrous adhesions, promoting tissue and muscular relaxation, remodeling scar tissue, and helping to maximize healing time. Soft tissue therapy is widely utilized form of treatment used on all levels of athletes and injuries to help reduce inflammation and promote more effective tissue healing. Great for sprains, strains, whiplash, muscle pain, sports injuries or chronic pain.

Everything in the body is connected. As dysfunctional joints can disrupt nerve transmission to our soft tissues, our soft tissues can also affect flexibility, mobility and positioning of our spine and bones. By addressing the neuromusculoskeletal system as a whole, studies have shown that treatment time can often be reduced, depending on the injury or outcome desired.

So what is soft tissue treatment? It's where the Doctor applies manual or instrument assisted pressure to specific tissues, similar to massage, but more technical and often in a shorter duration of time... in a direction that breaks up adhesions and scar tissue, allows better tissue mobility, decrease inflammation, and more.
